One person was killed and 89 injured, 33 of them seriously and nine in critical condition, when two passenger trains collided near Bedford in England. The injury count made it one of the largest transport accidents of the week. The death toll in the first report was one.

In Zimbabwe at least nine people, including two children, were killed and 25 injured when a freight train hit a bus in Triangle, Masvingo. In the Philippines six people were killed and 20 injured when a mini-dump truck hit a pickup and fell into a ravine in Labrador, Pangasinan. A business jet caught fire after crashing on a highway loop in Laredo, Texas, killing one person and injuring at least five.

The Palu quake, magnitude 6.7, killed one and injured 38. The Qinghai quake, magnitude 6.3, killed one and injured at least five. Both were logged as earthquake casualties rather than as transport crashes.

A B-52 crashed shortly after takeoff at Edwards Air Force Base in California, killing eight. Thirty-one people were killed when a bus plunged into a ravine in Ethiopia's Amhara region. Two Pakistani Air Force pilots were killed when a trainer crashed near Mardan.

Strong wind and heavy rain killed at least ten people in parts of Pakistan over 24 hours. A windmill, the Huisekoutermolen in East Flanders, was blown down in a thunderstorm. Weather and machinery failed in different countries on the same days.

Eleven soldiers, two civilians, and 22 gunmen were killed in a mass shooting and shootout at Diori Hamani airport in Niamey, and twenty suspects were arrested. That was an armed attack, not a crash. It still belonged to a week in which transport hubs were dangerous places.
